Summary
A stereoscopic glass slide produced using wet collodion process, depicting images of the moon by Samuel Fry. Two sheets of glass, one which has the image on one side and the other a cover glass. Between the two glass sheets is a blue paper mask with circular apertures around each image. There is black paper around the edges to hold the whole slide together. Markings: On the blue paper mask is printed in gold "The Moon - Stereoscopic Photograph taken by Samuel Fry, Brighton, at the Observatory of Charles Howell Esq, FRAS, Hove, near Brighton. With Pamphlet and Chart. Entered at Stationers' Hall. None are genuine without this Signature. (Signature of Samuel Fry)".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
