Summary
A gelatine silver stereoscopic glass slide depicting a marble statue of Sir Henry Edwards MP, in Weymouth, Dorset. There is a poster on a board leaning against the wall beneath the statue, advertising a Fete Champetre on July 23 1890, which enables dating of the image. Two sheets of glass, one which has the image on one side and the other a cover glass. Between the two glass sheets is a black paper mask with square corners at the bottom and rounded corners at the top, forming apertures around each image. There is black paper binding around the edges to hold the whole slide together. Markings: Handwritten in black ink on a white paper label affixed to the bottom right of the slide: 'Sir H. Edwards M.P. Weymouth'.
