Summary
A gelatine silver stereoscopic glass slide depicting the village of Ilam in Dovedale. There are three women walking past the Mary Watts-Russell Memorial Cross, in the centre of the road. (This was built in 1840 in memory of the wife of Jesse Watts-Russell, a wealthy industrialist who inherited the Ilam estate in 1820 on the death of his father.) An unframed and unmounted glass slide comprising two monochrome stereographic pictures. In the top left corner a small white paper label has been affixed, but no markings are visible.

Partr of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
