Summary
An albumen print in landscape format, depicting the Tombs of the Mamelukes, Cairo. The view shows large buildings and the city in the middle distance and background. In the foreground is an open expanse with several figures. The print is surrounded by a grey border that is printed onto the card mount. There is some foxing. Markings: Recto: Printed in black ink below the image and border: "Tombs of the Mamelukes, Cairo." Verso: No markings.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
