Summary
An albumen print in landscape format, depicting the facade of Verona Cathedral, in northern Italy. A man is sitting on the base of a column at the entrance. The print is mounted on heavy white card and is surrounded by a grey border printed on the card. There is a small amount of foxing. Markings: Recto: Handwritten in pencil, bottom left of the card is "The Duomo, Verona, 1382" Verso: No markings.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
