Summary
An albumen print in landscape format, depicting the mountain village of Les Praz in the valley of Chamonix in the foreground and steep mountains in the background - the Aiguille du Dru (part of the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps). The print is mounted on heavy white card. There is some foxing. Markings: Recto: Handwritten in pencil, bottom left of the card is "Chamonix Les Praz and the Aiguille du Dru". Verso: No markings.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
