Summary
An Albumen print depicting a view of St Marys', Scilly Isles taken from the Fort. Taken when it was a village, it shows 3 sailing ships in the harbour and a further one around the bay, out of the water, either being repaired or built. Beyond that is St Mary's Church The print is surrounded by a grey border that is printed onto the card mount, which is subject to slight foxing. Handwritten in pencil, recto bottom left is the title "St Marys' Scilly, from the Fort" and the number "2070". A printed paper label is attached to the verso bottom right, "Frith's Photo-Pictures the Universal Series.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
