Summary
Albumen print photograph mounted on heavy cream card, extracted from an album. The image depicts a flood-damaged railway bridge and rail track, on the Bengal-Nagpur Railway, Sine Midnapur, Calcutta Extension. The print shows a damaged masonry abutment (with rubble in the river).The track, which is on metal sleepers, is bowing and is supported by towers of wooden sleepers and are propped up with large wooden balks. Alongside the damaged track is an undamaged section. However, this is fixed onto wooden sleepers on a robust metal bridge. This page from the album is on the reverse of 1520766.5
