Summary
An albumen print photograph mounted on heavy cream card, extracted from an album. The image depicts repair work to a flooded railway line, of the Bengal Nagpur Railway Company, Sine Midnapur, Calcutta Extension. The print shows a bridge support, undermined by the flood water, being repaired by local labourers (both male and female) using very rudimentary implements. They are supervised by a local overseer.
