Summary
A packet made of card to contain cyanotype print photocards of Famous Film Stars issued by Turf Cigarettes. The packet consists of two pieces to mimic an old style cigarette packet. Recto: "Turf" over the icon of a white winged horse looking through a blue circle with a red background. Below the icon; in ink: 39. Below; Printed in white on blue banner: Cigarettes Below; in blue on white: Carreras Ltd; London (ESTD: 1788) Verso: In pencil; 1986.353 Printed in blue; Only the finest selected tobaccos, skilfully blended, are used for "Turf" Cigarettes. Below; the same icon from front Below; printed in white on blue banner "Turf" Below in ink 39 Bboth sides have "Turf" in Blue and 10 in white on blue. The slide that fits with in the case folds into five areas. Top and bottom areas; in blue: Finest Tobaccos Skilfully Blended Next two areas; in blue:10 "Turf" Central area; shows a cyanotype print of Wayne Morris There is a lined border around the print within which above the photograph the words "Turf" Cigarettes and below the photograph the words 50 Film Favourites no.33 The picture has been photographically captioned from the negative bottom right: Wayne Morris Warner Bros. N.B. The box appears to be for a different set of cigarette cards than those it contains.
