Summary
A 19th Century carte-de-visite photograph album bound in red embossed leather. The album has the capacity to hold 50 photographs. The front and back covers are covered in red leather which are identically embossed with a geometric design and the edges are bound in brass which is engraved with a Greek key pattern. The red leather spine has raised bands. The album is secured by an engraved brass clasp. The 50 white mounts have apertures which are identically decorated with a fine gilt floral decoration surround. The 25 leafs are gilt edged. The inner front and back pastedowns and free endpapers are white marbled paper. Markings: On the front free endpaper, handwritten in pencil, the number: 2189
