Summary
A 19th Century brown leather covered cabinet photograph album. The front cover is embossed with a large floral design. The back cover has a plain embossed grain. The album has the capacity to hold 10 photographs, one photograph per page. It is concertina folding. The front concertina mounts have 6 apertures, 1 arched shape and 5 oval shaped. The apertures are gilt edged and the mounts are colour lithographed with small rural scenes, flowers and birds. The back concertina mounts have 4 identical arched shape apertures which are gilt edged and outlined with a fine gilt line. Beneath the photograph apertures are narrow oblong curved end apertures which are outlined with a fine gilt line. Markings: On the first oval aperture, handwritten in pencil, the number: 1143 On the back leather bound cover, a small white label, handwritten in ink the number: 1143

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
