Summary
An ornate brown thermoplastic Union case. It is octagonal in shape with a large floral design on front and back, surrounded by an ornate scalloped edge border. It has brass hinges and clasp. The size is 1/6th plate. The left hand side interior of the case has dark red velvet lining, mounted onto thin card, and stamped with an ornate design. The right hand side interior of the case has a cream paper lining printed in black ink with: "Genuine Union Case, Improved. Fine Gilt and Burnished Hinge. S. Peck & Co., Manufacturers." Over this is an oval gilt mat overlaid with glass. The internal edges of the case on the right side are lined with brown felt.
