Summary
A hand-tinted ambrotype, depicting an elderly man in three-quarter length portrait. The subject is seated in front of a plan background The mat has arched corners at the top and bottom. It is surrounded by a gold preserver, and dark blue velvet edging. The case is of brown thermoplastic with moulded pattern to recto and verso, and is closed with a brass clasp. The case lis is lined with dark blue velvet. The size is a sixteenth plate.
