Summary
A photographic album bound in red leather with black inlay and gold tooling, red leather spine with raised bands and gold tooling. There is a photograph mounted on each side of the stiff card pages. Each card page is separated by an interleaved thin paper page. All pages have gilt edges . Containing 40 mounted photographs of Scotland. The prints are albumen. The album includes a variey of views, subjects and sizes in landscape of buildings and scenic views by James Valentine. There are 40 pages of photographs secured to only one side of the boards and have broad borders. The number 2265 and the words "40 photos by J Valentine" appear in the top right of the first page on which a photograph is mounted.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
