Summary
A red clothbound album containing 28 mounted albumen print photographs. The album includes a variety of views, subjects and sizes, including landscape, architectural views and buildings, mainly French & English. The whole album is bound in dark red cloth boards. The front board is decorated in an embossed geometric style with an outer border tooled in a black greek key and geometric circular design separated by gold lines with an inner rectangle of tooled black lines forming a diamond pattern with fleur de lis type motifs at the corners of the diamonds. The back board is plain with a blind stamped linear border. There are a total of 24 leaves (48 pages) of buff coloured card with extensive foxing and brown tinged edges. The front and back free endpapers are made of off-white paper and are damaged with some foxing. The number 2777 is pencilled onto the front free endpaper, top right corner. The number 884 is printed top right corner of back free endpaper. Only 18 pages at the front of the album display images. On the inside top left corner of the pastedown, there is some writing in pencil which is illegible.
