Summary
An albumen print photograph depicting the Gateway, Old Manchester. Also known as the Old Manchester Street, Roman Arch, which was reconstructed for the 1887 Manchester Royal Jubilee Exhibition. Next to the arch is a rotunda type building with several women in maid uniforms (white caps, collars and aprons) standing outside. The print is secured with broad paper borders. The corner shape is square. Markings: Handwritten in pencil on the page below the photograph: "Gateway Old Manchester".
