Summary
A salted paper print stereograph depicting the Palais de Justice, Paris. The image depicts the street leading up to the clock tower. Print is mounted on off white card. Recto: A blind oval stamp in the top right hand corner: A. Abraham & Co., Opticians, Lord St., Liverpool. The two arch shaped images have a 4mm gap. The images are mounted in arch shaped windows with thin gold borders. Verso: Handwritten in black ink in the top left hand corner: Palais De Justice. The reverse impression of the blind oval stamp can also be seen in the top left hand corner.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
