Summary
An albumen print stereograph depicting an ornamental pond with statues of three figures and horses in a collapsed chariot in foreground, flanked by an avenue of trees on each side in the background. Recognisable as Apollo's Fountain in the gardens of Versailles. Statues are lined up beneath the trees in a symmetrical view of formal lawn receeding into distance. Print is mounted on bright ye;llow card with rounded corners. Images have arched corners at the top and small gap between. Red tape has been fixed to the top left hand corner. Recto: printed in black ink to the left " MAISON MARTINET" and to the right "HAUTECOEUR FILS 7 Cie 12, Boulevard des Capucines. PARIS" Verso: handritten in black ink alonmg left side " Le char embroube (Versaille)"
