Summary
A Monochrome Woodburytype carte de visite depicting a seated man reading a paper. The print is mounted on heavy white card. Recto is marked at the bottom left A.. J. MELHUISH and right 12 YORK PLACE, PORTMAN SQUARE. Verso is a circular logo which reads 12 YORK PACE, PORTMAN SQUARE around the outside. Underneath is a banner saying ARTHUR JAMES MELHUISH'S then underneath PRIVATE PORTRAIT STUDIO. Verso also has a cream/yellow coloured border.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
