Summary
A Monochrome carbon print in carte de visite format. The print is a shoulder length oval shaped portrait of a young bearded man in suit and tie. The oval section of the print is slightly embossed, and the card itself is yellow in colour. There are markings both recto and verso: Recto, around the card, a simple red border Recto, printed in red ink below the carbon print, the photographer's mark flanked by 'DISDERI' to the right of the mark and 'DELIE SUCCr' to the left Verso, printed in red ink at the top of the card, 'Anciennement au No.8 Verso, printed in red ink in the centre of the card, landscape with the left side of the card as the base, eight crests (including those of Russia, Great Britain and France), below them 10 coins with intricate bordering, below them 'DISDERI DELIE SUCCr INVENTEUR BREVETE DE LA CARTE DE VISITE PORTRAIT BREVET DU 27 NOVEMBRE 1854 6. Boulevard des Italiens. 6 PARIS' Verso, printed in red ink, upside down at the bottom of the card, 'Tous les clichés sont conserves'
