Summary
A Monochrome albumen print in carte de visite format. The print is a three quarter length portrait of Hortense Schneider in costume as La Perichole from the Jacques Offenbach operetta of the same name. There are markings both recto and verso: Recto, printed in ink on the card around the print, a simple black line border Recto, printed in black ink below the print 'DISDERI, PHOTO.' Verso, handwritten in pencil at the top of the card, 'mdme Schneider 1869' Verso, printed landscape in red ink along the left side of the card, 'PARIS, 8 Boulevard des Italiens LONDON, 4, Brook Street, HANOVER SQUARE W. and for Equestrian Portraits, Hereford lodge, old Brompton Road, S.W. Verso, printed in red ink in the centre of the card in landscape, with the left hand side of the card as the base, 'Disderi'
