Summary
A monochrome albumen print in carte de visite format depicting a church altar flanked by carved stone arches. In Recto at lower left in black print 'EXETER' and on the right 'EXETER'. In verso an oval ornate frame with the words 'OWEN ANGEL, WEST OF ENGLAND, PHOTOGRAPHIC ESTABLISHMENT, High Street, EXETER. This or any other portrait enlarged up to life size and finished in Water or Oil colors'.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection, a gift from the British Film Institute (BFI) in 2017. From 1986 to 1999, it was part of the BFI's collection for the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI). The BFI purchased the collection in 1986 from James Fenton (Fenton Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man, 1976-1986).
