Summary
A monochrome albumen print in carte de visite format depicting a full-length portrait of a lady. Subject wears a dark floor-length dress with full skirt, long puffed sleeves and white lace collar and cuffs. Bodice has vertical pleat and embroidery detailing. Hair is dark, parted in the centre and worn down with ringlets. Subject is photographed indoors against a wall with her left arm resting on a pedestal table and a curtain hangs on the left of the image. Print is mounted on heavy white card. Recto: in black ink lower left 'C T Newcombe Photo'. Verso: in pencil upper left '25380' (number assigned by photographer or studio). Verso centre printed in black ink the logo of 'C T Newcombe, Photographer, 135 Fenchurch Street, City', and lower right 'And at 109 Regent St. W. and Hastings
