Summary
An Argentotype in Carte de Visite format depicting a half length portrait of a lady. Subject appears to be seated and is looking slightly to one side. Subject wears a dark dress or dress coat with large lapels, a stiff high white collar plus a dark neck tie in a bow. Lady has dark hair parted in centre and pulled back and up. Print is mounted on heavy white card. Recto printed in white ink on bottom edge of print 'Indelible Argentype, J S Catford, Barnstaple, Portland & Ilfracombe'. Verso printed in brown ink, logo and address of James S Catford.
