Subject is wearing a morning suit, his right arm resting on a book large frame, standing in front of a studio backdrop depicting part of a drawing room wall and door. The print is mounted onto heavy white card. Recto carries caption below photograph, handritten in black ink 'A. J. [indecipherable name] Queens'[?] Coll:'. Verso carries studio crest of Camille Silvy and '38 Porchester Terrace, Bayswater W.' printed in black ink, together Silvy's signature 'C. Silvy', printed in red ink.
