Summary
A monochrome albumen carte de visite. Family portrait of Edward Albert, Prince of Wales, (King Edward VII) with Princess of Wales (Princess Alexandra of Denmark). With three children left to right; Prince George, Prince Albert Victor, and Princess Louise, on father's lap. All three princes wear Highland dress. The print is mounted on heavy card. Printed on recto: W. & D. Downey Copyright. Printed on verso: Studio mark, a detailed crest with the following text W. & D. Downey, photographers to her Majesty, 9 Eldon Square, Newcastle on Tyne.

Part of the Fenton Collection, a gift from the British Film Institute (BFI) in 2017. From 1986-1999, it was part of the BFI's collection for the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI).
