Provenance
Acquired by the National trust when The Workhouse and associated buildings were purchased in 1997. Found in Firbeck Infirmary during restoration.
Marks and inscriptions
On thermometer within wooden outer casing.: Dr. FORBERS SPECIFICATIONS Numerical temperature scale 30 to 140 (visible) Alongside numerical scale are the words: FREZING; COLD BATH; COOL; TEMP; TEPID; WARM; HOT ('Hot' corresponds to 105 degrees, freezing to '30' degrees).
