Aquired by The National Trust when The Workhouse and associated buildings were purchased in 1997. Found in Firbeck Infirmary during restoration.

Upper surface of lid: Swann-Morton SURGIAL HANDLES STANDARD DETATCHABLE TYPE There is also a pattern of stripes at each side of writing. PACKED SINGLY IN NYLON B.S.2982 READY FOR AUTOCLAVING Both short ends of box lid. : Side One: SWANN MORTON HANDLES SIX No. 3 Side Two: as above, but lower line is barely legible.
