On the front of the tin.: Trade Mark CBC. The Pioneer brand, Milk Sugar, Makes the most natural Infants Food. Sold at all Branches of Boots the Chemist. Head Offices, Nottingham. On one side of the tin.: Directions for Use. In order to prepare one quart of Humanised Milk (which is sufficient for 24 hours’ food) take one pint of fresh Cow’s Milk (must be fresh), one pint of Water, four tablespoons of Skimmed Cream, Stir the whole well together and warm. The Humanised Milk is then ready for use. The proportions of Milk and Water should be modified according to the age and constitution of the infant. The use of half a pint of each of Lime Water and ordinary Water (in place of one pint of ordinary Water) renders the Milk more easy of digestion. In this way a Milk is prepared which is suitable for the most delicate infant, and which contains the constituents of Breast Milk in their due and proper proportions. On one side of the tin.: Caution It is most important that the Milk Sugar used for making Humanised Milk should be of the finest quality, as inferior brands are apt to curdle the milk, and upset the child’s stomach. The quality of the B.C.C. ‘Pioneer’ brand Milk Sugar is scientifically controlled; every batch is analytically tested before being packed. Its absolute purity, and freedom from acids, etc., is therefore amply guaranteed. London Wholesale Dept: 80 Borough Road, S.E. Boots Pure Drug Co., Ltd.
