Summary
A Belgian green transfer printed commemorative bowl. Of circular form with a dished centre. Decorated with a green transfer printed frieze around the rim of a female mask emitted sunlight rays, alternating around the bowl with a fabric hat on a stick crossed with an olive branch. Centred with a banner over a plaque of two hands passing the fabric hat on a stick, flanked by two cannon.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
Centre top.: “RECUERDO DEL CENTENARIO” in the banner over the plaque. And within plinths beneath the cannon “1810” and “1910”. Underside: “MADE IN BELGIUM / FABRICATION BELGE” within a circle, around a partially obscured stamp “BOCH FES / LA …VIÈRE”.
