Summary
An ash butcher’s block. With a heavy rectangular top with chamfered corners and bevelled edges. Upon four chamfered legs on steel castors, with four hexagonal bolts protruding from the sides of the top.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
Underside: “O.M.H.S” above hand written script in black ink “BSA / BARRACK STORE RAOC / CROXTON ROAD, THETFORD” with “1 of 3” in the same hand to the top left hand corner. On one side.: “H&W / 1953 / KA0590” next to a vertical arrow, with “329” next to a horizontal arrow.
