Summary
A glass jar of gold metallic paint, by Blackfriar. Of cylindrical form with curved shoulders beneath a white painted metal screw cap. Bearing a printed adhesive paper label around the outside with script in various colours on the gold paint coloured background. With two layers of fluid within the bottle, where it has separated, an oily blue top layer, over a thick golden layer to the bottom.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
On front: “BLACKFRIAR” on a white band, above black script “METALLIC / PAINT / PALE GOLD”, with further script in blaxck all round the label.
