Summary
An oak and beech bentwood chair by Thonet. With a shaped dished top rail, decorated with a single channel, above a similarly channelled rectangular horizontal splat. Over a drop in seat stamped with stylised anthemion design, upon four turned legs with outswept feet, united by a single bentwood stretcher.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.

Seat rail underside: “3020 / 22” Inside front rail.: “THONET / 23” Inside of right hand seat rail.: White adhesive paper label to the inside of the right hand seat rail, printed in black ink “THONET” within an elaborate black ink cartouche.
