Summary
An aluminium tin of wood dye, by Blackfriar. Of squat cylindrical shape, with a lip protruding around the top of the tin. The top centred with a red plastic screw cap. Printed to the outside of the tin with a photograph of dyed wood, beneath a black strip. With further diagrams and script all over.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
To the front.: “BLACKFRIAR”, over grey script “WOOD DYE” with further script in white on brown “CHESTNUT”. On yellow adhesive paper label.: “£2-69”.
