Summary
A ceramic toilet by Royal Doulton. With a white glazed toilet bowl, with a wide cylindrical u-bend pipe plumbing it into the floor. Lacking any toilet seat. Joined by a white painted pipe to a white painted cast iron cistern, of rounded rectangular form. Possibly once bearing moulded script to the front, now heavily corroded. With a hinged arm to the top of the cistern suspending a metal chain.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
To back inside of bowl.: White blue transfer printed script to the inside back of the toilet bowl “ROYAL / DOULTON / MADE IN ENGLAND”.
