Summary
A carved pine open fretwork screen, made by Khadambi Asalache. With an lunette carved border to the top, above four main fretwork panels of stylised foliage and scrolling organic forms. Flanked by two vertical columns of open triangular piercings with drilled holes to the edges. With a band of lozenge piercings nailed to the front at the bottom. Comprised of several pieces of pine board, nailed or glued together. With pencil sketch marking to the front in places.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
