Summary
A ceramic warming plate, by Spode. Decorated with hand painted yellow and blue flowers among scrolling green foliage, around the rim of the plate, on a cream ground. Moulded as one with the flared water dish below. With two handles moulded as stylised foliage and decorated with brown painted leaves, to opposing sides. A ceramic spout protrudes beneath one handle, which is also pierced with a single hole and threaded with a loop of knotted string.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
