Summary

A light cream plastic spool of black cotton thread. Of cylindrical form with protruding ends, pierced on one side with five apertures. With a white paper adhesive label to one end.

Provenance

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.

Marks and inscriptions

On paper label.: “MERCERISED SEWING THREAD / SYLKO / 91m 100yd” above white script reading “ENGLISH SEWING LTD”.
