Summary
A silver lustre milk jug, reproduction of a Georgian design, by Gibson & Sons Ltd.. The rounded body with a row of bead moulding halfway down, above a reeded drawn in bottom section.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
Underside: “G & S LTD.” Within a scroll surmounted with a crown. Over “…& Harvey / Potteries / …ASLEM / MADE IN / ENGLAND”. Partially obscured by green paint “V” mark and various illegible characters in green paint.
