Summary
A tribal African woven decorative covering. Of narrow rectangular form, with panels of woven material stitched together and decorated with patches of open serrated line stitching, diagonally crossing black stitched lines incorporating cowry shells, all enclosed within a black and white checked border. Once red in colour now faded to straw brown.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
