Summary
A moulded glass inkwell with large silver hinged lid. The bulbous moulded gadrooned lid above a silver collar bearing the inscription “FRED WALKER”. Over a similarly moulded bulbous gadrooned body with a loose glass well sunk into the centre, and an incised star to the underside.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
Around collar: "FRED WALKER" Silver lid bearing hallmarks of anchor, lion and “a”. Indicating it is sterling silver and made in Birmingham in 1900.
