A pink lustreware plate, decorated with a simple rural scene, showing a building and fence in the centre and trees overlapping onto the rim.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully November 2010.
Marks and inscriptions
Underside: On the back a maker’s mark depicting a galleon in black on a yellow ground with green sea. Beneath the words: “GRAY’S POTTERY / MADE IN / STOKE-ON-TRENT. / ENGLAND” Underside: Also a paper sticker handwritten with “GRAYS LUSTRE” and an unreadable number.
