Summary
Mahogany banister for the cantilever staircase in the stair hall of Quarry Bank House. It is supported by 79 square section balusters, painted white, and a cylindrical baluster at the base of the staircase, also painted white. The base of the banister ends in a scroll, the very centre of which is supported by the only cylindrical baluster. The banister follows the curve of the staircase, with a total of four corners. It leads from the bottom of the staircase to the corridor of the first floor, where it creates a small, dead-end corridor to the right of the staircase.
