Summary
Hank winder with wrap wheel, gauge (bell and hammer) fixed to a tubular green frame and mounted on a white painted wooden base, unknown maker. This instrument was similar to the wrap wheel, but had the added ability of being able to measure lengths of yarn to be tested for quality or weight. The yarn to be tested was wound onto the winder and the bell would ring when the yarn on the winder reached the length desired. This allowed for uniformity and ease in producing yarn samples of the same length for testing. The measuring gauge and wooden mount may have been replaced.
