Summary

A Blackburn's yarn balance made by John Nesbitt and Co. Ltd., Manchester, used for estimating the counts of yarn. The yarn is attached by a hook to one end of the balance, a small weight being attached to the other end and the number of threads that balance the beam give the count. It includes three templates for cutting the length of yarn. Inside a box lined with blue velvet.
