Summary
A black wooden glass fronted display case for Horrockses, Miller and Company. It bears, on the front at the bottom a brass plate which is inscribed 'Presented by Horrockses, Miller and Co. PRESTON'. The inside is papered light blue and contains samples of American raw cotton, a slubbing bobbin, weft cops, ring frame bobbins, a roving bobbin, a shuttle about 30 cm long, breaker scutcher and finisher scutcher lap, twist cops, intermediate bobbin, carding sliver and raw egyptian cotton. In the centre there is a piece of cloth stamped 'Horrockses, Miller and Co. Established 1791' and a photograph of a drawing of John Horrocks (1768-1804).
