Summary
One of a set of thirty two mounted photographs showing aspects of Venice and Florence, this one shows the Bridge of Sighs, Venice, which links the Doge's Palace to the New Prison and was built between 1600 and 1603 having been designed by Antonio Contino. The prisoners were interrogated in the Doge's Palace and taken over the Bridge of Sighs into the New Prison on the right of the photograph.
