Summary
A set of 12 hand knotters in various states of repair, all have leather handgrips which would be held with the palm facing upwards, and separated by the action of flinching a U-shaped handle with the thumb. This action operates a lever system which turns the thread and knots it. Nine of the knotters are in tins or boxes, one tin is yellow and used to contain 'MacFarlane Lang and Co.'s Biscuits'. Their coat of arms appears on the top, as does the monogram. Another is a rectangular Boots tin with 'Pure Drugs. Prescriptions Accurately Dispensed' on the front.
