Summary
An earthenware bottle with circular base, straight sides and tapering to the neck, which is designed to hold a cork. The bottle is glazed, apart from the base which is rough. It is beige coloured and has a makers mark embossed close to the base. The details of this are; 'J. Bourne and Son, Patentees, Denby Pottery, Near Denby'. The original contents of the bottle and its makers are described in a label printed in black on the bottle; 'STONE GINGER BEER/ LEIGH AND CO. / GLOBE WORKS / SALFORD'. The label is oval in shape, decorated with two leafy branches and a symbol showing the world on a six pointed star.
